Chimney Relining:
The majority of masonry chimneys are constructed with an inner liner of terra cotta clay tiles. The purpose of this liner is the keep the heat of flue gases inside the chimney so that the combustible materials near by such as walls in your home, framing, etc. do not overheat causing a chimney fire. A chimney lining system also keeps carbon monoxide, moisture, smoke, cresote and other hazardous combustion's from seeping through the bricks and mortor leaking into your home. Town & Country Chimney Service, Inc. will install a secure lining system as a crucial part to the safety and well being of your family and home.

Chimney Rebuilding:
When a chimney is severely damaged such as water damage, settling of the foundation or the chimney has been struck by lightening, this is when the chimney is required to be rebuilt. The rebuilding process can be completed in two forms. The most common form is to rebuild the chimney from the roof line up, because this is where the chimney is exposed to elements. The other form of rebuilding would be from the ground up, this is where the chimney is torn down to the ground and built back to the original design, unless the customer requests differently.
Chimney Cleaning & Inspection:
Our CSIA Certified Chimney Sweeps use state-of-the-art equipment to inspect and clean chimneys of all kinds, including wood, oil, pellet, gas, and coal burning chimneys. While sweeping your system and removing dangerous, flammable creosote from the inside of your chimney, we ensure that it is in working order and venting properly. We look for any problems that could prevent optimal performance and recommend what is needed for your system to burn cleanly and safely. Our inspection is not just of your chimney flue, we also thoroughly inspect your crown condition, brickwork, mortar joints and flashing, smoke chamber and shelf, damper, firebox and hearth. Our technicians are very clean and thorough, that is why we have a "NO MESS GUARANTEE!!"
Three levels of Inspection:
-
Level I Inspection: This inspection is recommended when the chimney venting system is easily accessible and when the homeowner is planning to maintain its current use. This level of inspection is performed in most homes. During the level 1 inspection a certified chimney sweep verifies that the chimney structure is sound and that the chimney is free of obstructions and combustible deposits such as creosote.
-
Level II Inspection: The addition of a new home heating appliance or a change in the type of fuel a homeowner is burning requires a level 2 inspection. This level of inspection is also required upon the sale or transfer of a property. In some cases after an operating malfunction or external event that is likely to have caused damage to the chimney. It may also include a performance test such as pressure test and smoke test performed by one of Town & Country Chimney Service professional chimney technicians.
-
Level III Inspection: When a hidden hazard is identified during either a Level I or II inspection, a Level III inspection is highly recommended. This level of inspection confirms the proper construction and condition of sealed portions of the chimney structure and the flu system. Level III inspections are generally performed when investigating a harmful incident that has caused damage to the chimney or building.
THE CHIMNEY SAFETY INSTITUE OF AMERICA & THE NATIONAL FIRE PROTECTION ASSOCIATION HIGHLY RECOMMEND YEARLY CHIMNEY INSPECTIONS TO HELP PREVENT FIRE AND CARBON MONOXIDE POISONINGS.
Dryer Vent Cleaning:
Your home dryer vent can become a fire hazard if neglected long enough. Residential dryer vents should be cleaned once every year. For commercial dryer vents such as hair salons, bed and breakfast, nursing homes, etc .should be cleaned three to four time a year due to high volume usage. Town & Country Chimney Service Inc. uses affective tools that allows us to detect and solve issues before they become problems.
 Crown & Coat Seals:
Also known as a flexi crown seal, or crown save. Crown coat provides fireplace chimney repair to damaged chimney crowns by eliminating chimney leaks, and water penetration & absorption. A crown is the cement slab that sits at the very top of your chimney and protects the brick and mortar joints beneath from water entry, which causes brick chimney repair needs. All crowns will crack in time from expansion & contraction, settlement, and poor construction, which causes chimney leaks.
Chimney Caps
Does your home have an uncapped chimney? If your answer is yes to this question Town & Country Chimney Services, Inc. uses Hy-C and Gelco stainless caps. The purpose of the cap is to prevent rain water from entering the chimney over the course of time causeing the chimney to deteriorate. Secondly they prevent animals such as racoons, birds, squirrels, etc.
Waterproofing:
Town & Country Chimney Service, Inc. uses a breathable masonry chimney water repellent known as DEFY. This product is a modified siloxane based product specifically designed for chimney's to penetrate deeply into most masonry and concrete pores. Unlike acrylics, silicones, and other waterproofing sealers that form a film on the surface and trap water vapors, DEFY masonry waterproofing products allow deep penetration of the active ingredients of up to 1/4 inch or more. As a result, the special siloxanes in DEFY Masonry Chimney Water Repellent react to form strong chemical bonds beneath a treated surface. These bonds allow the product to become a physical part of the structure and provide long-lasting water repellent protection without altering the appearance of the brick.
Lock Top Damper:
They're not just "replacement dampers" anymore...no way. All throat dampers leak energy, even new ones. So each and every fireplace is a candidate for the win/win of an energy-saving damper installation. Lock-Top has a stainless steel lid attached to a cast-aluminum frame by an array of stainless spring wires. It comes with a 30' cable that drops down the chimney and is operated with a handle mounted in the firebox. Just a tug on the handle opens or tightly closes the Lock-Top. Longer cables are available. The Lock-Top comes with a safety device that locks the damper open during a chimney fire.
Chase Tops:
Leaking and damaged chase tops are potential hazards on prefabricated (metal) fireplaces. Town & Country Chimney Service, Inc. can help eliminate theses problems before they start by replacing a rusted water damaged chase top, with a brand new stainless steel custom made chase top to fit your chimney exactly.
